It's a small world

I was in Galway last weekend for a cousin's wedding. On the Saturday morning, while I was waiting for Mum and Dad to come down, I was idly looking at the photos in the front room of the B&B we were staying in. My attention was drawn to a wedding photo and I said to myself "I know yer man from somewhere". After racking my brains, I realised who the groom was - none other than Dave McGuire who I had last seen more than ten years ago in Belmar, New Jersey! Talk about a small world - it was only the other week that I was looking at photos of our infamous trip to Washington D.C. Anyway, I was speaking to his mum and apparently he's living in Naas these days. He got married two years ago - judging by the photo he hasn't changed much, apart from losing most of his hair...

Separated at birth?

This is a particularly good lookalike. I'd been trying to put my finger on who it was that Rio Ferdinand reminded me of - now I know! He'll never be anywhere near as cool as Snoop Dogg, of course...

Partition walls

I don't like offices with partition walls - you can't have a private conversation for fear that someone on either side is listening in. Earlier this morning, it was my turn to listen in on a "conversation" - make that screaming row - that was unfolding in the office beside me. The two combatants were Louise (my secretary) and one of the partners whom she also works for. Louise had been falsely accused of something and was giving every bit as good as she was getting. Went on for nearly ten minutes - if only I'd had a glass to put against the wall! Louise went to the Managing Partner to complain immediately afterwards, fair play to her. I brought her in to my office just now and told her I'd have a word with him as well, if she wants. After all, I'm leaving at the end of October and so won't have to hold back!

Fergie expected to shuffle pack

Last night's performance was dreadful - we definitely need to shake things up for Monday's game against Liverpool. Good to see that Fergie isn't living in a fool's paradise and recognises that we have problems.

Rooney doubtful for Wales clash

More bad news for United - when will it end? I was looking forward to seeing Rooney run rings round the scousers on 20 September, with Rio back in defence. Not to be...

Oh to be down under again...

Claire - one of the receptionists at work - is finishing up today to return home to Australia. And my God am I jealous! I'll have to go on the piss to cheer myself up, I reckon. Still, at least it's nice today here in Dublin - you could almost convince yourself it's like a spring day in Sydney. Anyway, enough of this maudlin shite - I'm off to the pub.
